Dr. Cathie Anderson

Dr. Anderson is an Honors Graduate of Sydney University. She has done further training in Family Medicine (Monash Uni), Mental Health, and is a qualified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). Cathie provides comprehensive General Medical care for patients of all ages, with a strong interest in Women’s and Children’s Health and also Mental Health issues. She also provides specialist care for Breastfeeding matters.

Dr. Anderson works Tuesday to Friday.

Dr. Ivor Burfitt

MSc(Hons) PhD MBBS (UQ)

After working in scientific research Dr Burfitt studied Medicine at the University of Queensland and had been part of Seaforth Medical Centre since 1989, before SFMC moved into Sydney Road Family Medical Practice. His interest are in aspect of general medical care with application of computer technology to medicine. He is actively involved with the training of our GP Registrars.

Dr Burfitt consults Mondays to Thursdays, and one in three Saturday mornings

Dr. Hanlon Chiddy

Dr. Chiddy is a Graduate of the University of Cape Town. Hanlon is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. He believes in Comprehensive Care, with special interests in Psychiatry, Cardiology, and Musculo-skeletal medicine. He is supported by his wife and three adult sons, and enjoys Rugby, Cricket, and Bridge.

Dr. Chiddy works Monday, Wednesday and Fridays.

Dr. Helen Chriss

MBBS(Hons) FRACGP, Dip Paed, Cert Fam Planning, Clincal Dip Palliative Med

Dr. Helen Chriss joined our team in 2000. She has special interests in Paediatrics, Womens’ Health and Palliative Care.  Dr Chriss also works at Bear Cottage and provides Palliative care in Manly.  She enjoys teaching medical students at Manly Hospital and in the practice, and is also actively involved with teaching our GP Registrars.

Dr Chriss consults Monday to Thursdays, and one in three Saturday mornings

Dr Chriss is fluent in both English and Greek.

Dr. Patrick Davis

Bsc(Hons), MBCHB, FRACGP, Cert Primary Skin Cancer Medicine

Patrick has special interests in Complex General Medicine, Mental Health, Pain Management, Travel Medicine, Skin Cancer Medicine, Men’s Health, Paediatrics and Preventative Health.  He completed a Neuropsychology Honours Degree at Otago University NZ, then a Medical Degree in Auckland, with his residency in 2001 at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Camperdown Sydney.

He has worked in both public and private hospitals in Rehabilitation, Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, Coronary Care and Psychiatry.  As a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, he enjoys combining his experience in both the private and public hospital system across a range of specialties.

Patrick views the doctor-patient relationship as a partnership to educate and empower people to make positive decisions for their future health, including any current illness.

His interests include music, art, rugby, and fishing. He is made better by his son and wonderful partner.

Dr Patrick Davis consults full time Monday to Friday.

Dr. Joanna Guy

MBChB

Dr Guy is a Registrar undergoing specialist training in General Practice. She is available Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Dr Heginbotham is currently on Maternity leave, returning in 2018.

Dr. Alma Jackmann

MBBS FRACGP, AMC, Cert Fam Planning

Dr. Alma Jackman is a graduate of University of Sarajevo & worked as a GP in Bosnia before moving to Australia with her family. After completing the Australian GP Registrar training she joined us in 2013. Her special interests are in Women’s Health, Paediatrics and Mental Health.

Dr Jackman Consults Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and one in three Saturday mornings

Dr Jackman is fluent in English, Bosnian, Serbian & Croatian.

Dr. Sylvia Joseph

Dr. Alexandra Mole

MBChB, FRACGP, Dip Trop Med, Dip Child Health, Cert Family Planning

Dr Mole will join the practice in early August 2017

Alexandra’s interests include general medicine, women’s health, family planning & sexual health, paediatrics, travel medicine and mental health.  She completed her medical degree in the UK before moving to Australia and working in Emergency Medicine and Obstetrics & Gynaecology prior to commencing GP training and becoming a member of the Royal College of Australian General Practitioners. She has completed post graduate diplomas in Child Health and Tropical Medicine & Infectious Diseases; she has also completed her Australian Certificate of Family Planning & Sexual Health. Alexandra enjoys teaching and supporting the doctors of tomorrow. She contributes to the education of medical student training through the University of New South Wales and is keen to help maintain these high clinical standards through practising evidence based medicine.

Alexandra loves working in general practice and is compassionate, approachable and enthusiastic about continuity of care for each individual and their family

Dr Alexandra Mole consults on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Dr. Deirdre O’Dea

Dr. O’Dea is a Graduate of the UNSW, and a Fellow of the College of GPs. She has a certificate in Family Planning and is an examiner for the Australian Medical Council. Deirdre enjoys teaching and regularly has Sydney University Medical Students. Deirdre’s special interests include family, women and children’s health, including shared antenatal care.

Dr. O’Dea works Tuesday, Wednesday and Fridays.

Dr. David Ross Smith

MBBch NUI Bao LRCPSI, FRACGP

Dr David Ross Smith grew up on the Northern Beaches and has worked extensively throughout Australia in both remote and urban settings. He became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) in 2005.

Dr Davids interests include sports injuries, travel medicine, skin cancer prevention and management and mens health.

Dr. Tim Sutherland

Dr. Sutherland is an Honors Graduate of Sydney University. He enjoys a full range of patient care with a special interest in Internal Medicine. He is married, with three children and two dogs. His other interests are beach fishing and gardening.

Dr. Sutherland works Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday.

Dr. Anura Thalagala

Dr. Thalagala has wide clinical experience of overseas and Australian health systems. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. His special interests include Internal Medicine, Dermatology, Musculo-skeletal Medicine, Geriatrics, Men’s Health and Diving Medicine. His other interests include Badminton and Cricket.

Dr. Thalagala works Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays.

Ben Gleeson

Psychologist

Ben is a registered psychologist with clinical experience working with adolescents and adults with a range of mental health difficulties in both NSW health and non-government settings. He is able to provide psychological assessment and both brief and longer term psychological therapy using evidence-based principles of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for the treatment of depression, anxiety, grief and loss, PTSD, drug and alcohol issues, self-harm, relationship issues, career counselling, body image concerns, self-esteem, anger management and bullying. Ben has specific interests in men’s mental health and mindfulness and offers an empathic and supportive approach with all his clients. He enjoys working collaboratively to support the unique needs of people from all backgrounds with a holistic and client-centred approach to recovery and well-being. He works with clients towards self-empowerment in helping them to deal with life’s difficulties.

Adena Silverstein

Psychologist

Adena is a fully registered Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Authority - AHPRA (Registration No: PSY0001125660) and a member of the Australian Psychological Society - APS (membership No: 108525). She has completed a Master of Psychology (Counselling) at Monash University.
She shows genuine and empathic support and concern for her clients. She engages her clients in working collaboratively with her, with the aim of increasing their feeling of well-being. She utilises various therapeutic frameworks to guide sessions with clients. Sessions are tailored to assess and address the specific needs and concerns o

Amber Sewell-Green

Dietician

Amber is a motivated and personable Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) and Nutritionist (AN).

Amber is a strong believer in mind-body nutrition. She applies mindfulness techniques and motivational interviewing to assist behaviour change and empower clients to improve their health and nutrition. Amber has particular interests in nutrition for the brain; including Thyroid Disorders, ADHD, Dementia and Food Addiction. She also specialises in plant-based nutrition and can help vegetarian and vegan clients of all ages achieve nutritionally complete diets.

Amber is a member of the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine and is a strong believer in interdisciplinary health teams.

Tom Caristo

APA Sports Physiotherapist

Tom is one of the most highly qualified and experienced physiotherapists on the Northern Beaches. He completed a degree of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) at Sydney University in 2010 before going on to complete a Masters of Sports Physiotherapy at University of Queensland in 2014. Tom is currently a contractor to Cricket NSW players and has previously been involved with rugby league, netball and swimming Australia wide.

Tom can help with rehabilitation of low back pain, hip, knee and ankle post-surgical programs, sports injuries, osteoarthritis and adolescent ailments
